How Furnival Press produced and delivered over 1,000 branded items to ExCeL London, Moor Park Golf Club and a Canary Wharf hotel in one week for a client 3,000 miles away in Boston.

The inside story of one company's INTA Annual Meeting week, three delivery addresses, one van, one point of contact, and a robot dog.

  1. EXHIBITION PRINTING DELIVERED TO EXCEL LONDON -AND EVERYWHERE ELSE

Need exhibition printing and branded merchandise delivered to ExCeL London or another London venue? Here's how we handled it for Anaqua, a Boston-headquartered IP technology company: over 1,000 branded items, produced and delivered to three London and Home Counties locations ExCeL London, Moor Park Golf Club, and the team's hotel in Canary Wharf in a single week for INTA's 148th Annual Meeting. Here's how it worked, and what it means for your next event.

  1. THE BRIEF: AN OVERSEAS COMPANY, TWO LONDON EVENTS, THREE DELIVERY ADDRESSES

INTA's Annual Meeting is the biggest date on the global trademark calendar more than 10,000 IP professionals from over 100 jurisdictions arriving at ExCeL London for one week in May. Anaqua, one of the world's leading IP management platforms, was exhibiting at Booth #1831 and running a client golf day the day before.

Anaqua's events team is based in Boston, Massachusetts over 3,000 miles from the show floor. They needed a print partner on the ground in the UK who could handle everything: production, proofing, storage, assembly and delivery to three different addresses on a schedule that couldn't move.

Moor Park Golf Club, Rickmansworth, needed a complete branded golf-day kit by 30 April. ExCeL London's Maritime entrance needed the exhibition stand materials by 9am on 2 May. And the Anaqua team's hotel in Canary Wharf took a third drop staff shirts and ties delivered straight to where the team was staying, so everyone was kitted out before day one. One point of contact. One supplier. Zero excuses.

  1. WHAT DOES A FULL EVENT PRINT PACKAGE LOOK LIKE?

Over eight weeks, a comfortable runway, though we can move far faster when needed working directly with Anaqua's US-based events team across time zones, Furnival Press supplied and delivered: a branded golf day (gazebo, hemmed table throw, double-sided feather flag, FootJoy shirts, 650 branded mints, 60 breakaway lanyards and hand sanitiser for the whole field); a full ExCeL London exhibition presence (indoor roller banner, SEG fabric free-standing lightbox, a second table throw sized to spec, and 50 hard enamel badges); over 1,500 double-sided coffee vouchers, an A5 coffee menu, reserved seating signs, a flip-through brochure, a tri-fold booth brochure and A4 handouts; and business cards for executives flying in from the US and across Europe printed to the correct US size (3.5" x 2") and EU size for each person.

Then the extras that make a stand memorable: two Ferrari LEGO sets, and a robot dog "Robodog" hand-branded in our workshop with precision-cut vinyl Anaqua logos on its body and all four legs, ready to walk the show floor.

Every item was manually checked and proofed by a human before it went anywhere near a press. That's been the Furnival Press way since 1862.

  1. WHY DO OVERSEAS COMPANIES NEED A UK PRINT PARTNER FOR LONDON EVENTS?

Because the practical problems are all local. Anaqua's design team produced excellent artwork from Boston but when files are flying back and forth across time zones at event speed, a second pair of trained eyes on this side of the Atlantic is worth its weight in gold. We proof every file against the final print spec before anything runs: checking alignment, matching Pantone references to brand guidelines, and adjusting colour values for specific materials like flag fabric, which prints differently to paper. When we spotted small tweaks, their designer turned the fixes around fast and thanked us for the catch. That's how it should work designer and printer as one team.

The same goes for the physical logistics no design file can solve. We received Amazon deliveries, stored LEGO sets and raffle boxes shipped from the US and consolidated everything onto one van. And when the golf flag needed a base that wouldn't damage Moor Park's fairway, we filled it with sand ourselves before it left our Essex workshop.

If you're exhibiting in London from the US, Europe or further afield, that's the real service: a local partner who acts as your receiving address, your quality check and your delivery team, so your only job is turning up.

  1. CAN YOU DELIVER DIRECTLY INTO EXCEL LONDON?

Yes, and this is where events live or die. ExCeL London requires booked delivery slots, registered vehicles, named drivers and printed passes. We handled all of it. Everything travels together on one van with Pete, our professional and courteous driver, who arrived at the Maritime entrance in the booked 9–10am window on 2 May with nine boxes, met the stand team, and Booth #1831 was dressed in Anaqua purple from the lightbox backdrop down to the lanyards before the doors opened. We regularly deliver into ExCeL London, Olympia, Tobacco Dock, the Business Design Centre and venues across Central London from our base in South Essex.

  1. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I ORDER PRINT AND MERCHANDISE FOR A LONDON TRADE SHOW?

The more time, the better — we started Anaqua's job with eight weeks to go, and that's a comfortable runway. But we're built for speed too: paper printing and some large format can turn around in as little as a day, while badges, lanyards, merchandise and fabric printing typically need 5–10 working days. After an initial chat we'll tell you exactly what's achievable in the time you have — and whatever we commit to is 100% guaranteed.

CAN FURNIVAL PRESS RECEIVE SHIPMENTS ON OUR BEHALF BEFORE AN EVENT?

Yes. Overseas clients regularly ship items to us — merchandise, prizes, materials from other suppliers — and we consolidate everything into one venue delivery. We print US-size business cards (3.5" x 2"), EU and UK sizes too, matched to each person on your team. And we deliver to ExCeL London, Olympia London, Tobacco Dock, the Business Design Centre, Alexandra Palace, the QEII Centre, hotels, golf clubs and private venues across London and the South East.

  1. THE RESULT

Anaqua's events team called the week an outright success and said they couldn't believe how much came together in the final days. Their senior leadership sent a personal thank-you. Several of the display pieces the lightbox included are already booked for their next event.

Here's the five-star Google review Sharon Cheng, Anaqua's Associate Director of Event Marketing, left us afterwards:

"I had a great experience working with David on our recent event planning for a big industry trade show. He was incredibly responsive and flexible throughout the process, especially as our plans evolved. Even when we needed to shift direction, David was accommodating with timelines and changes, which made everything run much more smoothly. I truly appreciated the support and would gladly collaborate again in the future."

You'll find this and more on our Google reviews. That's the reaction we work for on every job and "plans evolving" is the reality of every live event. A print partner who bends with you, rather than quoting you the terms and conditions, is worth finding before you need one.
