UK Paper Sizes

Paper sizes in the UK are standardized and defined by the ISO 216 standard. Here is a list of common paper sizes in millimeters (mm) in the UK:

A0: 1189 x 841 mm

A1: 841 x 594 mm

A2: 594 x 420 mm

A3: 420 x 297 mm

A4: 297 x 210 mm

A5: 210 x 148 mm

A6: 148 x 105 mm

A7: 105 x 74 mm

A8: 74 x 52 mm

B0: 1414 x 1000 mm

B1: 1000 x 707 mm

B2: 707 x 500 mm

B3: 500 x 353 mm

B4: 353 x 250 mm

B5: 250 x 176 mm

B6: 176 x 125 mm

Note that these sizes are based on the aspect ratio of 1:v2, which means that when you halve a sheet of paper along its longer side, the aspect ratio stays the same. This allows for easy scaling and cutting to create smaller or larger sheets of paper.

SR paper sizes are a series of paper sizes that are based on the aspect ratio of 2:3, as opposed to the 1:v2 aspect ratio of the ISO 216 standard. This makes SR paper sizes different in shape and size from the standard A and B series paper sizes. Here is a list of common SR paper sizes in millimeters (mm) in the UK, Furnival Press prints most digital items on SRA3 and litho up to SRA0 so using these measurements you can determine the size of your artwork to be most economical on the paper size, however please allow 10mm from SRA3 to allow for bleed and crop marks, we would advise to base your design on the A sizes above:

SRA0: 900 x 1250 mm

SRA1: 640 x 900 mm

SRA2: 450 x 640 mm

SRA3: 320 x 450 mm

SRA4: 225 x 320 mm

SRA5: 160 x 225 mm

SRA6: 113 x 160 mm

SRA7: 80 x 113 mm

SRA8: 56 x 80 mm

Note that SR paper sizes are not as widely used as the ISO 216 standard, but they can be useful for certain printing or design applications that require a different aspect ratio.
